The greatest breast feeding advice I ever received was to trust myself. As a first time mom I had many moments that were plagued my self doubt until I finally decided to just let go. I realized that in our culture women do not trust their God given instincts enough. By trusting my instincts I have become some comfortable nursing anytime and anyplace.
ReplyDeleteI "like" the good let down on fb Christine Callahan is my my name!
ReplyDeleteMy greatest breast feeding advice...be patient and take it slow. It will work out. Thanks to that I am still going strong at 6 months and plan to go at LEAST another 6 months!

ReplyDeleteThe best breastfeeding advice I've ever received was to never give up. Unfortunately, my son never would latch, and he had bad jaundice that the doctors felt the need to supplement him with breast milk through a bottle. Well, the way I see it I never gave up on giving my son the best. I'm now an exclusive pumper. The best advice I've ever received as an EPer? Don't give up on a bad day. And I haven't yet! 3 months and going strong! =D

ReplyDeleteI think the best advise was this. "Breast feeding might come natural but it doesn't always come easy. Mom and baby have to work together to be successful."

ReplyDeleteThe best breastfeeding advice I ever got was to "do what works for us." I was receiving a lot of negative "advice" and was getting frustrated because of it. There is no set-in-stone one way of doing it, i'm glad someone reminded me of that.
ReplyDeleteThe best advice that I ever received about breastfeeding and mothering in general was "this too shall pass". Any time I am overwhelmed at the every two hour nursing sessions with my now 10 month old, or feel like I'm ready to break down with my sleep deprevation I can look at my almost six year old girl who is so busy... and know that this time passes so quickly. I need to stop and enjoy the moments before they are gone and out of the house!!
